When should I start Maternally Fit classes?

You can start our pregnancy classes at any time before the 30th week of your pregnancy, provided you do not have any complications that preclude you from attending our classes. Starting at around the 10-14 week mark would be ideal, as this gives you plenty of time to make gains in strength and fitness before the arrival of your baby. Once you have had your baby you can return to our classes from 4 weeks if you have had an uncomplicated vaginal delivery. If you have had a cesarean you can come from 6 weeks. In order to ensure you are safe to start exercising with us you will be asked to complete and return a medical form before your first class.  

What happens at my first class?

Your first class is a FREE Introductory class, where you have a chance to experience a Maternally Fit class and decide whether it is for you.  As we have a limited number of spaces per class, you must PRE-BOOK your first class. We will then send you an information sheet and a medical form to complete. After your class, you can then decide whether you want to join the program.

How much do Maternally Fit classes cost?

Classes are purchased in a block of either 5 or 10 classes, which can either be booked once or twice a week.  The more you purchase the cheaper the individual price per class.

Online classes are £40 for 5 classes or £80 for 10.  Our face to face classes can also be purchased in 5 or 10 week blocks and range from £10-£15 per class.

How long can I participate in classes?

You can continue to attend the pregnancy classes right up until your delivery date if you feel comfortable exercising. During the last weeks of your pregnancy, your instructor will be able to modify exercises to make them easier for you, if required. Our post natal classes are generally suitable until your baby is on the move, although if they are happy during the class you can continue to come as long as you want and we can make the exercises more challenging for you.

What do I need to bring to the class?

For our online pregnancy classes you will ideally need a gym ball (or chair), a set of weights (or tin cans/water bottles) and a mat if you have a hard floor.

For the face to face post natal classes you will need a mat and a strip of theraband (light to medium resistance and roughly 1.5m in length).  If you have your baby with you they should ideally be in a pushchair.

For our online post natal class you will ideally need a theraband (or light weights) and a mat if you have a hard floor.
